It takes time

time“Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God,
who is coming into the world.” John 11:27

This was the testimony of the Samaritan woman concerning her salvation experience and also the recent testimony of Josef and Renate after two years of our Bible study with them. Josef added “How profitable this study of John and Hebrews has been for me!” We shared Gods leading in his life once before but bear with me as we share it again! He didn’t like the study at first and would always search for a reason not to attend. One Wednesday he decided to go for a jog in the woods instead of taking part.

I’ll quote him as he shared what happened then: “I came upon a place in the woods where deer were feeding from troughs hunters had arranged for them. I stood there watching them feed when all of a sudden a hunter came out of hiding and screamed at me!! “What are you doing here??? Get out of here! You’re not supposed to be here! Go home!” For me that was the voice of God telling me to stop making excuses not to be home and at the Bible study!”

From that day forward Josef only missed the study when he had to work…just a very few times. For over 2 years he and his wife, Renate, listen intently to Ricks teaching until God’s Word finally overtook them and they trusted Christ. OVER 2 years!!

We often want the Spirit of God to work in 2 minutes!! This is a typical Austrian conversion, taking much time, effort and prayer. Thank you all so much for your prayer for us and for them over this period of time. This is why Christ – the light of the world – came into his creation – to save sinners. This is why – after 42 years – we still need to be in this dark part of the world.
