unknownBees have an incredible system of communication and teamwork. When they find a food source, they tell other bees through what some call the “”waggle dance talk.” They can point other bees to the nectar up to 500 feet away. When a bee finds a good thing he invites others.

That is the essence of evangelism. We have found a good thing and need to do the “”waggle dance talk.” This is illustrated by the woman at the well in John 4. After meeting Christ, she left her water pot and went back into the city to invite others to come meet Jesus. She didn’t understand everything about Jesus but she knew she had found a good thing and invited others to meet him.

That is the beauty of invitational evangelism. You are simply telling others what you have found. That is why every Christian should be able to tell the story of their conversion. Like a bee, you have found a good thing and evangelism is simply telling others about the good news.

This concept is exciting because it puts evangelism within reach of every believer. While some may not be able to explain the intricacies of theology they can tell about the nectar of salvation that they found. They can invite others to look more deeply. Everyone can invite others to meet Jesus.
