Before a meeting is called, someone normally sets an agenda. It would be terribly frustrating to go to a meeting and no-one know why the meeting is called. Without an agenda, anyone could bring up any subject… any subject at all. The conversation would meander. Very quickly, everyone would lose interest. At the end of the meeting, no one could say whether they accomplished their goal. It would be a waste of time.
In the same way, our lives should have an agenda. Instead of meandering through life, we should know our purpose for being here. The Apostle Paul put it this way about himself:
“And I do all things for the gospel’s sake, that I may be a joint partaker thereof” (1 Corinthians 9:23).
Paul had one agenda and that was to evangelize. That consumed him. Every decision and action was governed by that one agenda. He knew why he was on planet earth.
Paul had an agenda. What is yours?
